This one's a must read

Head on over here and read this post!

Hallelujah

Got back from the computer genius's business a little while ago with a copy of my Quickbooks file in tow along with a few other "must-haves" from my laptop hard drive and he's sending the defective one off to be replaced under warranty. All I can say is thank you Jesus for computer geniuses like Jonathan! God is so good!

I don't think computers like me...

for the second time in 3 months the hard drive in my laptop computer has died. UGH!! Thankfully there is a really great computer business here in our little town and for the 2nd time, they're trying to revive my machine. The first time they did a wonderful job and I didn't lose a thing. He told me that the current hard drive has a few bad sectors on it, so I will most likely lose something...just not sure what yet. The hard drive is thankfully under warranty, but I probably have at least a few things that weren't quite as well backed up as they should have been, so he's trying to recover that data before sending the drive off to be replaced. So a reminder to all - backup, backup, backup! I'll keep you posted!

Sorry it's been awhile...

Life has been a *little* on the hectic side lately, and I haven't had time to post much, but hope to be back in the saddle again! :) One of the reasons life has been crazy is that Brad and I managed to steal away to Charleston this past weekend for some much needed R&R - we tried to do as much prep work ahead of time so that things would go smoothly while we were gone, but of course, both jobs we were on turned out to have some issues going on, and my sweet DH ended up on the phone more of vacation than he would have liked, but we both have said it's at least a start! I'm including a few pics of our trip - we really didn't take many, as pics are much cuter when there's a little fella around! LOL I've also included various Walker pics from the past couple of weeks - hope you enjoy!

Us on the dinner cruise we took in the Charleston Harbor - great fun!

Pics as the sun was setting in the harbor - it was so beautiful!!

And on to what you're really here for...

Walker recently has become very interested in our vacuum cleaner - we also have a little mini floor sweeper that we keep in the kitchen - last night Brad got it out to sweep up a few crumbs from supper and W decided he needed to give it a try.

I'm usually the one snapping the pics, so when W came over and sat down in my lap last night after vacuuming I quickly (and gladly) handed Brad the camera...he was able to get a few cute shots - yea! Why is it that we moms (or dads in some fams) always are the ones with no pics of us and the babies???

I just love seeing him play with his blocks!!

And there's no doubt about it - in addition to loving playing outside in general, the boy does love a slide!
Saying hello from the tree house window.
See what I mean?
And last, but not least, one Mother's Day pic with my fella - we tried for several that day and this was as good as it got, but much better than the first attempts! I figure something is better than nothing! :)

Doesn't - Work for me Wednesday

I'm a little on the slow side so far today - LOL - it's been busy, what can I say? AND - I did make it to the Y this morning to exercise - yea me! Had originally planned to skip today's WFMW, but when I saw the "reverse" topic, just couldn't resist!

1. CROCKPOT recipes - and for real - I welcome any & all help here! I love the idea of using my crockpot on a regular basis, but other than doing a pot roast & carrots, potatoes & onions or a whole chicken (again, probably with carrots, potatoes & onions) - I just struggle...it seems like everything so easily turns to mush and just all tastes the same. So if any of you out there in blogger land have any super yummy crock recipes...please let me know, 'cause I would SO love for my crockpot to work for me!!

2. COUPONS - I want to make these work...I do...really, I do...I love clipping coupons, in fact, it's the only reason we take the Sunday paper! Anyway...far too often they're only for "name" brands - we use lots of generic brands and then so often they just never make it to the store with me, or I end up with so many that I can never find the one I actually need to/could use. I've seen all kinds of "intense" binder systems for storing myriads of coupons...just havn't ever found a system that works for me...and so, consequently, there are coupons all over my baker's rack - both clipped & unclipped that are probably eventually destined for the trash!

Well - that's it for now...may add a little more after dinner, but at least this is a start! Head on over to Rocks in My Dryer for more great ideas to avoid! LOL

Just a few pics...

Just thought I'd jump on and share a few pics today...it's been a busy but productive week, but let's face it...most of you are here for the pics anyway, right? LOL Enjoy!
Guess who likes chocolate pudding...

and bananas....
never thought of the dishwasher as the "perfect" banana storage spot, but evidently somebody did...
just couldn't resist snapping a pic of this one!

Snacktime with Walker

Yesterday afternoon Brad called and said a GC had a check ready for us to pick up, so after Walker got up from his nap, I decided to give him a quick snack and then head out to pick up the check. I got out an apple & cinnamon cereal bar (one of his favorites) and decided to give it to him whole - something he also loves - I could tell immediately that it was going to be cute, so I grabbed the camera, snapped a few pics and started filming. Hope you'll enjoy - if you have enough patience to stick around all the way to the end of the video, you can hear him talking to the outside world - so cute!
