I go full-blast with them for a while, then I stop, then I go again, LOL. I finally have decided to only clip the ones for the few name-brand products I "have" to have (as opposed to the many generics I buy) and leave it at that. I'm much happier and have far few coupons cluttering my house. ;)Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05586345335424142815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890143172961637989.post-88769266950757725902008-05-08T13:18:00.000-04:002008-05-08T13:18:00.000-04:00Jodi, we have a very simple coupon system that wor...Jodi, we have a very simple coupon system that works for us. Now, mind you, we don't scour the internet looking for stuff - we're not those "I bought all this for 10 cents" people. But we do manage to save using coupons. Here's what we do:

Every Sunday we clip ONLY the coupons that are for things we already buy. If you clip things that look cool, you'll end up spending more money that usual. We get Tropicana or Simply Orange OJ, butter, margarine, sour cream, toothbrushes, kitchen sponges, rice, and other things this way. (I mean not always, but a lot of times.)

Then, before we go to the grocery store, we take a look through our coupon folder to see if there's anything in there that we need.

I like having one place for all my coupons, so I don't restrict this folder to grocery store coupons. Pizza, contact lenses, and Bed Bath and Beyond coupons also go there.

One last tip: If you ever bake, you can usually get coupons for aluminum foil, cupcake tins, vegetable oil, and things like that. We always clip these (and cake mixes) for those times I need to make something at the last minute.Meredithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09137214178447010232noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890143172961637989.post-538886004983509052008-05-08T12:51:00.000-04:002008-05-08T12:51:00.000-04:00I use the crockpot about twice a week. But, I have...I use the crockpot about twice a week. But, I have never done a roast or chicken in it. ;)

Casseroles and soups in particular are pretty good crockpot-ers. Just use whatever recipes you already use and decrease the water. Noodles aren't the best, but tortillas, chips, potatoes, and rice based things work fine. I've even done dumplings in the crockpot on a few occasions!lizzykristinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15373882181669855076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890143172961637989.post-76289110371036132332008-05-08T12:34:00.000-04:002008-05-08T12:34:00.000-04:00I think we use our crockpot about the same...and I...I think we use our crockpot about the same...and I am awful at coupons too! :) Love ya!Autumnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02187416753521455194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890143172961637989.post-9582744908022460212008-05-08T11:43:00.000-04:002008-05-08T11:43:00.000-04:00Hello~I also love using my crockpot but agree reci...Hello~
I also love using my crockpot but agree recipes are limited. However I did find this receipe from Paula Deen for Mac n Cheese in the crockpot. I didn't even know this was possiable but I tried the recipe and its super easy and real yummy!
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni (an 8-ounce box isn't quite 2 cups)
4 tablespoons (1/2 stuck) butter, cut into pieces
2 1/2 cups (about 10 ounces) grated sharp Cheddar cheese
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Boil the macaroni in a 2 quart saucepan in plenty of water until tender, about 7 minutes. Drain. In a medium saucepan, mix butter and cheese. Stir until the cheese melts. In a slow cooker, combine cheese/butter mixture and add the eggs, sour cream, soup, salt, milk, mustard and pepper and stir well. Then add drained macaroni and stir again. Set the slow cooker on low setting and cook for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.MARY-ANNhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08938342080402916722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3890143172961637989.post-21887601320120956262008-05-08T00:28:00.000-04:002008-05-08T00:28:00.000-04:00I have to share with you my favorite crock pot boo...I have to share with you my favorite crock pot book!
